Boy Oh Boycott started out several years ago when I was a senior in high school and part of the school paper. I was assigned to write an article for the April Fool’s issue of the paper, and I had a really hard time trying to think of something. Finally, inspiration struck me, and I wrote a story about boycotting MySpace.
After I wrote it and it was published in the paper, I decided to write more. My next column was about boycotting Wal-Mart, and it also went out in the paper. But when I graduated from high school, I stopped writing these articles. I did do one about Christmas, and one about Microsoft, but the latter was never published.
These stories sat on my hard drive for about two years, collecting dust, until recently I decided to take up writing these columns again, and that’s that. This blog will primarily be the host for my ramblings about boycotting companies, and I have a list of the ones I want to write about. But if inspiration strikes me, I might write about something else. That’s highly unlikely, but more likely than pigs flying.
About the Author
My name is John. I’m a sophomore in college majoring in Multimedia Journalism, which is just the college’s fancy way of saying Web Design. I live in Austin, Texas, which is one of the greatest cities in the world. No joke. It’s so great that a homeless crossdresser has run for mayor a few times.
Anyways, if there are two things you should know about me, it’s that I’m a geek, I love satire, and I love sarcasm. Okay, so that’s two things. So sue me. Or don’t, because I don’t have that much money to begin with.
